Why we collect them. A photograph is the only way Prysit can tell you what an item appears to be and what it might be worth. It is collected for that purpose, to show you your own result, and — if you choose — to prepare a listing you have asked for. Nothing else.

How they are analysed. The photo is resized on your own device and sent to an automated image-recognition service. A computer looks at it and returns a suggested item name, category and condition. No person at Prysit reviews your photos as part of ordinary use.

Where they are stored. Photos of your items are held on the device you used, in that browser’s own storage. A photo is only copied to Prysit’s server storage when you ask to prepare a marketplace listing that needs an image, and that storage is private — it can only be read through a time-limited link created for that one purpose.

Who may process them. Prysit, the automated image-recognition provider, Prysit’s hosting and storage provider, and — only when you have asked for a listing — the marketplace you chose. [for legal review: name each processor and its location]

AI training. Your photographs are not used to train Prysit’s own models. If that ever changed, it would be disclosed separately and would need your consent first. How you delete them. Delete the item in My Stuff to remove its photo, or clear the site data in your browser to remove everything held on that device. The steps are on the delete-your-data page linked below.

These periods are set in Prysit’s settings and can be adjusted:

Photographs and unfinished items from people who are not signed in: deleted after 24 hours.

Unfinished items belonging to a signed-in account: deleted after 30 days without activity.

Items you keep: retained for as long as you keep them.

Items you delete: removed from the live system promptly, and they age out of routine backups within the documented backup cycle (currently 30 days).

Marketplace permissions: removed as soon as you disconnect the marketplace or delete your account.

You can use Prysit without an account. If accounts are switched on and you make one, the details you give — such as an email address — are used to sign you in and to keep your saved items together across devices. Nothing else is required.

Connecting eBay is optional, and today it only works with eBay’s sandbox — a test environment separate from the real eBay site.

You sign in on eBay’s own page. Prysit never asks for, sees or stores your eBay password. eBay gives Prysit a permission token instead, and that token is held only on Prysit’s server. It is never sent to your browser, never shown on screen, and never included in a web address or an error message.

The permission Prysit asks for is the smallest set eBay documents for creating and managing your own listings. It is used only to prepare a draft listing when you ask for one. Prysit does not publish listings, does not read your eBay messages or finances, and does not act on your account for any other purpose.

You can disconnect at any time from your account area. Disconnecting removes the stored permission, and you can also revoke it on eBay’s own site.

Photos and item details are handled so Prysit can do the thing you asked it to do: identify an item, estimate a value, and — if you choose — prepare a draft listing. An eBay connection is only made when you actively choose to make it.

Prysit does not sell your information, does not share it for advertising, and does not pass your photos or items to marketplaces, buyers or partners on its own initiative.

Information leaves Prysit only in two situations: the automated recognition service that looks at your photo, and eBay when you have connected an account and asked for a draft.

Marketplace permissions are kept only on Prysit’s servers, encrypted, and tied to your signed-in Prysit account. Your browser never holds them: it holds only your ordinary sign-in session. They are never shown on screen, put in a web address, or written into our records of what happened. Connecting a marketplace therefore requires a Prysit account; scanning, valuing and preparing an advert yourself do not. You can delete any item at any time, disconnect eBay from your account area, and clear the site data in your browser to remove everything held on your device. The steps are set out on the delete your data page.

If you close your eBay account, eBay tells Prysit, and any permission held for you is removed. Prysit keeps no eBay profile or sales records of its own.
